Educational Opportunities

Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce of New Hampshire 

There is a broad assortment of educational opportunities available to our members each year.  All of our education materials are fashioned with our members in mind; built on their suggestions and what they would find of value.

Below are some of our current programs available to members:

Young Professionals Networking - Interested in joining a dynamic group of young professionals each month for networking, professional and personal development?  Stay tuned as the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce develops an exciting new initiative focused on the needs of young professionals by helping them make connections in our community.

Business to Business Networking - Looking for an opportunity to network with other professionals, establish new business contacts and develop new opportunities to increase your business? Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 8 a.m. at The Hampton Inn in Tilton.  Call the Chamber office for more information or to RSVP.

Brown Bag Lunch - Watch the Event Calendar for brown bag lunch meetings.  Throughout the year Chamber member businesses sponsor these events and faciliate the topic, speaker and/or discussion. This is an informal setting and another opportunity to network.

Lakes Region Management Club Partner Series - We have a partnership with the Lakes Region Management Club that provides for chamber members to attend the seminars and speaker presentations provided via the Club. Any fees charged for attendance would be at Club rates for Chamber members.

Adult Success Program - Classes for Laconia Academy start August 30th and registrations are currently being accepted.  The GED preparation classes are scheduled to begin in September.  Call 603-524-5712 to see what your options are for enrolling and starting back on that diploma or GED pursuit.

SCORE Lakes Region - Local Business Workshops SCORE Lakes Region offers low-cost business training workshops and seminars for both start-up and in-business entrepreneurs.  Also SCORE is able to provide follow on  no cost one-on-one in depth counseling to solve your business needs. In addition to being a learning experience, workshops also offer an opportunity to interact with other local small business owners, or prospective business owners. This workshop will focus on how to do your homework in market research and competitor analysis to enable you to viably set your marketing and sales strategy. This workshop will help you get started in: Pricing Products and Services, Building Your Brand, Promoting Your Business, Advertising Your Business, Building a Web Site, Personalization Strategies to Attract and Retain Customers and Identifying Your Sales Strategy. Meeting your peers is an added benefit.

10/19/2010 Personal Management

This workshop covers a variety of personnel management issues including: the discipline of hiring and developing employees so that they become more valuable to the organization. This workshop will cover: conducting job analyses, job descriptions, planning personnel needs, and recruitment, selecting the right people for the job, orientation and training, determining and managing wages and bonuses, providing benefits and incentives,  appraising performance, resolving disputes, communicating with all employees at all levels. In many businesses employees are the most critical asset. Corporate results will often depend on how well their employees are directed, challenged, praised and rewarded. Meeting your peers is an added benefit.
